New York, NY – a musical phenomenon 5’Nizza (Ukraine) and superstar musicians Markscheider Kunst (Russia) unite for their highly anticipated Muzika Without Borders/ 2005 North American Tour.
Since forming 5’Nizza (Piatnitza) in 2000 Andrei Zaporozhets and Sergey Babkin have been on the mission to revive music by engaging every aspect of the world around them, politically and emotionally. They found inspiration in music and lyrics which cross cultural boundaries and musical genres. Dubbed “a musical phenomenon” in their native Ukraine, 5’Nizza creatively mix reggae with Latin American rhythms, dance music and rap, adding the perfect last touch of electrifying energy at every concert. With their raw power and street credibility the duet has built a fevered popularity in Ukraine and Russia. Now they are ready to unleash their passions in North America.
Markscheider Kunst combines the energy of a rock band with the sensitivity and camaraderie of a group of artists-adventurers. Sergei Efrmenko (guitar), Vladimir Matushkin (guitar), Kirill Oskin (base), Sergey Egorov (precussion), Mikhail Nikolaev (timbales, konga), Ramil Shamsutdinov (trombone), Aleksandr Pliusnin (trumpet) energize their fans with rhythmic, rebellious, sexy, fierce and cool tunes. Pushing the limits of one’s dancing ability the stunning 7 piece band plays rumba, afro-rock, soukous, ska and reggae. In support of their latest release “Na Svyazi” Markscheider Kunst makes their second stellar appearance in the US.
Muzika Without Borders/ 2005 North American Tour explodes Friday, December 2nd in Boston and arrives to 5 cities: New York, Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco. Markscheider Kunst and 5’Nizza will perform a total of 6 live shows.
The New York Concert will be held December 3rd and 4th at the Hook Club (18 Commerce Street, Brooklyn). The Hook has beed named the Best Rock Club 2004 by New York Magazine.
The tour is organized by Red Lynx Productions, whose mission is to promote meaningful exchange between Russia and the US in the fields of music, film, and entertainment.
